I have uploaded a new sermon “Jesus is Lord” based on Col. 2:8-15 and catechetical teaching on coveting from last Sunday, 7-25-2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Milan, MI. The teaching on coveting relates beliefs from Konkomba culture of Ghana, West Africa.  On the sermons page.

I recently found that my paper “Relationships in Witnessing” which I gave in summer 2008 is posted on the 2008 conference blog for the International Association for Mission Studies (of which I am a member). Here is the link to the blog and to my paper. It was a great trip to Hungary. I will try to get some photos posted.

In June-July 2008 I traveled to six different locations in Siberia with the “Summer Lectures”  hosted by the Siberian Evangelical Lutheran Church, assisted by Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne.  There are about 12 slides at the beginning explaining some history of the Lutheran church in Russia and Siberia with 110 photos more of the people and the places I experienced. The Lutherans in Siberia were great hosts and it was a trip I will never forget!     The page is under the Photos and Video tab.

I will get more photos up, but this was cool. Miss Michigan spoke at our Veterans’ Day event and Deb and I got a photo with her. (Of course the two ladies were ready for the photo, and I was not!)

Finally had time to add a sermon! “Words from Above” on Matthew 16:13-19. Preached as part of the Kingdom Witnessing Words workshop at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Farmington Hills, MI on Oct 17-18. I have many more to add, soon maybe?

I have started to place a few items from my trip to Siberia in June-July 2008 online. Two videos are up. I am working on many photos and more videos. It takes a while to learn how to use WordPress, etc.!  To the video

Dr. Carl Rockrohr, Assistant Prof. of Religion at Concordia University Ann Arbor, is offering a weekend witnessing seminar entitled “Kingdom Witnessing Words” for congregations. The topics will focus on the Christian’s identity in God’s kingdom and the effectiveness of God’s Word among all different types of cultures and situations, addressing the issue, “what can I say to witness?”  The suggested format will be a Saturday workshop from 9 am – 2:30 pm with presentations, small group discussion, and time for devotions and prayer. Dr. Rockrohr can preach the Sunday sermon(s) as well as lead another session during the Adult Bible hour. The Sunday sermon and Bible class will build on the Saturday sessions, but  will also be useful to all not attending the Saturday seminar. Dr. Rockrohr has been a congregational pastor as well as an LC-MS missionary to Ghana, West Africa. Contact Dr. Rockrohr at Concordia University Ann Arbor for more details.
